Quick Question about CRON jobs

Hello everyone,

I just have a quick and (hopefully) simple question about CRON jobs.

1) When creating a CRON job, if I want to have it run every couple of hours, do I simply put a 2 in the "hours" field and leave everything else the same? It would end up looking like this:

Minute Hour Day Month Weekday
0 2 * * *

Also, is there any way to see if the job itself is running properly?

A 0 in the minutes field and 2 in the hours field, as you've indicated, would run your job at 2:00 am every day. To run it every two hours use 0 */2 * * * (that's "*/2" in the hours field) to run it every two hours.
