Saving files...

When editing files via ssh using vi I am experiencing a 3-5 second delay (some time as high as 10 seconds) each time I save the file. I have to sit and wait for the save to complete before I can do anything. Anyone else experiencing this?

what kind of server: VPS, Semi-Dedicated, Dedicated, Shared ?

If File I/O is high this can happen. Or if there is a problem on the RAID and a disk is ready for replacement, the system may slow down as well (as it needs more resources to keep your websites up), so many things it can be, better see if its regular that this goes wrong and notify support.
