How do I enable GD image library on my server??

Hi I moved my forum to my new VPS with Cpanel/WHM and a potential member just messaged me saying they cant register because the image verification system (which runs on GD) doesn't work!

    How do I enable it?

I don't know how to do that on VPS, but I do know that I have had to request to support that GDLib be installed (in PHP, I think) on shared servers before. Perhaps you could ask tech support what is required?

Maybe the path just changed on you... or not!

If not, you'll need to install the PHP module GD plus the graphic libraries.

Heh! I think a 'ticket' is probably in order, as Ron said...

Yep. The GD libraries need to be installed by root. Depending on the implementation, you may need to add the appropriate modules (for PHP, Perl, etc.) too, though those don't necessarily need to be done by root.

I'm not sure a ticket to ask them to do it is appropriate -- I'm still confused as to what level of management is included with a VPS package. I was suggesting a erquest for info.

Perhaps the answer could go into Jag's Knowledge Base.

I submitted a ticket and they recompiled PHP with GD support.

    Kudos to them.
