Angry Atlanta Datacenter and packet loss (MERGED)

Just got word that the Atlanta Datacenter went down when I was unable to load my servers about 20 minutes ago.

Looks like it might be the JagPC upstream providers, hardware or network snyc issue.

    Known Servers affected: Katarn, Ulises.

Hero and Luna are also down, not sure if it's related.

EDIT: Announcement has just been posted by Les

Does this mean downloading firmware for another router, testing it then re-syncing the router?

    Freedom VPS Down?

Hi, I'm on a Freedom VPS server. Is my server name listed on the Network Status page of JaguarPC? My site is not working and I cannot even login to the Virtuozzo cPanel. Is this a network problem or a problem w/ just my server?

It started at first that just my forum wasn't working... then the http server went down?

So is this being worked on, and can i tell by looking at the network status page if it is down?

It's a router issue according to the thread, you would think they would keep a spare or 2 around for a data center... I owned a faily large ISP for many years we always kept extra router & switchs (always!)

Since it's been WELL over an hour - either they don't have a hotswap spare available or they lost the config and have to rebuild it, either way for a data center to be ths sloppy is a bad thing.

And do you have any comment regarding when will be reestablished the hosting?

    Kinda frustrating.

This is not the first time either a router or switch has gone out, and it takes them somewhere between 1 to 2 hours to get a new one installed, upload the firmware into it, and then sync it into the network.

ryvan and wyvern VPS servers are down too.

doens't jaguarpc give a 100% guaranteed network uptime? these last two months have been absolutely horrible, from the data center move to another "emergency maintenance" that happeend in july... is this becoming some regular thing for Jagpc?

jagpc people-- i realy hope you guys sort this out. your resellers and VPS and dedicated server owners are losing credibility, which means you are indirectly losing credibility as a host and you'll start seeing people leave pretty soon should these outages continue.

How long it will take to fix the core router issue, down times cost me money, please give me some clue about it.

    Thx

I know it sucks. My vps is in Atlanta so having this happen really makes me go argh! Still, if they get it up soon, it won't be too bad. 2 to 3 hours every couple of months isn't too bad of performance. It is just 0.2% downtime.

Well it's my 2nd day with them on a VPS, it sure doesn't make a good impression I tell you. There many other companies I was considering when I went with Jaguar. I knew one promised a month free service for EVERY hour your server was offline, what does Jaguar do in events like this, nothing?
