Comcast Blacklist - Wolverine, Chameleon, maybe more?

Wolverine has been on the Comcast blacklist for sending email for the last month.

Chameleon was on the list a month ago (since then my site moved to wolverine so I'm not sure if chameleon is still on the list).

It seems likely to me that other servers might be on this list too.

I filed a support ticket 4 weeks ago, Jaguar requested to be removed from the blacklist but this obviously hasn't happenned (they said it should take 24 hours).

Comcast is pretty popular. I found several other blacklists that Jaguar was on (including one that looks like it is impossible to get off, as they don't give you any contact info to remove your IP), but the Comcast one affected five times more of my users than any of the others.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah, that last wave of refugee 'webmasters' reminds me of the crew from the Black Pearl, particularly 'slick'...

I think they got some 'esplaining' to do, Lucy!

We're still on the Comcast blacklist. I suspect this is affecting several severs - as the IP address that is blacklisted is: 69.73.131.230.

I presume Jaguar is using this mail server to send out mail for multiple servers. Is this guess correct?

I tried emailing Comcast and got a phone number that Jaguar can call. So I passed it on to Jaguar support. They said they need to identify the problem, so they can say that they've remedied it.

I'm hoping they can identify the problem - because I know that they have limits on how many emails people can send out. So they should know who exceeds those limits.

If anyone else is having this problem, please file a support ticket.

I have 20+ users on comcast, including one rather important user.

I don't know where you get the 7 sites number.

I have about 20 (give or take 20) comcast emails on my email newsletter list (and 3000 or so users).

Vin - both this and your last post were very very cryptic. For instance, it's quite possible that there are only 7 sites on wolverine - but I didn't say it, and you don't say how you got the number (and I have no idea how to get that number).
And I had no idea what the Black Pearl reference had to do with anything.

He probably got the idea that there are 7 sites from a reverse IP service.

I see 9 sites on one service and 8 on another.

With the exception of DNS, all services that you use are self contained on your server. One machine hosts all of the sites, MySQL, POP, IMAP, SMTP, FTP, etc. The IP that you specified specifically maps to wolverine.

Some blacklists will block blocks of IP addresses. If that's the case then all the servers in a particular data center (Houston or Atlanta) could be blocked. If that was the case then there would probably be more complaints about problems with Comcast, so my guess is that it is limited to just your server.
