Anyone else experiencing slowdowns to Atlanta?

I opened a ticket about this, but it's going unanswered, which is quite unusual.

Anyone else having trouble with Atlanta network on and off since last night? My site, this forum and the ticket system is slow as well.

If you are, what's your geographic location?

I'm in the US North East.

I was having trouble with numerous sites yesterday but perhaps it has to do with all the power out in Western NY.

    I just gotta say....

The network in Atlanta, up until now, had been far far superior for me than at any time in Houston. I had been nervous about moving to Atlanta because I had read a few things on this forum from members in Atlanta, and about DoS attacks and the entire network going down there, but I was assured by JPC management that it was a misperception I was holding.

Well here I am. Last night there were some problems reaching the site. I KNOW it's not a loaded server problem because the load on the server was below 1, which given the usual load average on the machine says to me that either the NIC is no good, or there's another network problem and requests aren't making it to the node.

I open a ticket and sure enough support says there is a network problem, and the next time I checked the site it was OK.

So today I'm in the MIDDLE of wrapping negotiations on a substantial advertising deal for one of my sites, and THAT is when the network problems happen again. Can you believe it? Murphy's Law in action.

Well, I closed the deal anyway (A round of free 1 megabyte of bandwidth for everyone on me!), but it sure made for some unnecessarily tense moments.

    Big siiiiiigggggggh.

I got a response from support; there were multiple DoS attacks going on the Atlanta network which have all been blocked, including one targeting my machine specifically.

    Speeeeeeeeeeeeedy now!
