IRC is not allowed on any Shared Server for Good Reason...

I dont even think JAG allows them on the network PERIOD. but I am unsure on that, I know for a FACT you will never be allowed to operate on a Shared Server and if it is found your account will be suspended.

I support Jag 100000000000000000000000000000000000% on this policy

You're right; not allowed on the network at all.

Say.. got some first hand experience with it? I've been wondering what sucks so bad about IRC that it is the one thing truly banned around here. Care to share?

    there are many reasons.

    1) it increases Server Loads due to a leaching nature of IRC
    2) it is a breading ground for illegal activity, and I am not talking MP3 downloads here, I am talking Child Porn, Warez, etc any of which can bring in the FBI and bring down the WHOLE SERVER not just the clients part of it
    3) Plus it attacts Spammers, Phishers, hackers, Scammers, etc to the network./

IRC is good for many things, but it's a DDoS magnet. It does have issues with illegal activity, but that's why you ban people who bring that kind of stuff to your server.

IRC servers are the one thing Jag has truly banned from everything here though.
