    Multihost FTP

    Hi,
I just set up my first multi-host domain on my account that I have been using for a long time. Everything is working well except for FTP.

What I want to do is have a username for users of the new domain to only show the new domain name. But whatever I type into the username it switches it to the main domain name of the account.

    For example:
I want "ftpuser@multihosted-domain.com" but when I create a FTP account with that as the username I get "ftpuser@main-domain.com" The account works fine, but I would like to hide the "main-domain" part from the users.

Is that doable through cpanel, or do I need support to do it?

    Thanks

I am pretty sure that you can only add users to the main domain, the only ftp access for the addons is going to be the one setup when create the addon domain.

You can control which folders your ftp accounts can access, but all of them have to be @yourmaindomain.com. I don't think cp supports creating accounts on add-on domains.

    CodeMonkeyX,

Your domain is x.com you multihost y.com

create an ftp user user@x.com that is set to read from the y folder and olny it. that is the only way to make an ftp account for a multihosted domain
