Exclamation Out of Disk Space - Clean Up!

    Hi guys,

It looks like I've reached 199mb of the allotted 200mb disk space.

I looked at the cPanel Disk Usage Viewer and it seems that most of the space is being taken by "tmp/webalizer" (using 42mb), "tmp/analog" (using 31mb), "tmp/awstats" (using 19mb), "mail/.spam" (using 10mb) directories. So it boils down to the stats packages and e-mail. Now ...

    1. Is it possible to permanently deactivate Analog and Awstats (so that they don't store any stats log to conserve disk space)? I only use Webalizer.

    2. How can I remove past stat logs for all three stats packages on my server space? There seem to be lots of sub-folders and files related to the stats packages under the tmp folder.

    3. What else can I cleanup to make more space (besides the www scripts)?

    Please help with your suggestions.

    Thanks!

If you really only have 200MB plan, open a ticket to sales. Sounds like you are on an old Aletia V200 plan. I think the owner recently announced that all plans are getting the features of current plans at no additional charge, or something like that.
    Good luck

if I remember right the V200 was $10/mo anyway, so even if there was not a free upgrade, getting 85X the web space is worth the extra $2/mo

Not if you don't really need it!

We never really answered the OP question.

Ashben, you can delete the tmp/analog and tmp/awstats directories if you like. They will probably just be recreated next stats run. I don't know of a way to disable them, support might be able to do that for you.
You also could probably log into your email account and remove the spam emails. You can use webmail to do this.

You can do all that anyway, but I'd still open that ticket and ask to have the new limits applied to your account.
    Good luck

There should not be anyone with just 200mb webspace on any shared plan anymore. Please open a ticket asap. Thanks

Analog is disabled on our servers. The data is from old stats. You can delete the analog folder. AwStats is used by more than webalizer so it can not be disabled.

If you want to remove all past stats, you can remove all files under tmp folder. They will be recreated for new stats.

    Usually unattended mailbox or spambox.

And if you have only 200MB and you are not a resold account under old reseller program, then please open a ticket to have your account upgraded. Somehow your account is not setup as a direct JaguarPC account on the server.

Thanks guys! I got it resolved.

Apparently I was still on the old Aletia 200mb cPanel plan, so I was upgraded to the 17gb Jaguar plan now. But I did cleanup the analog and awstats folders to avoid some mess.

Glad you got it taken care of. I appreciate the details Masood gave on deleting stats files. Now I can delete the Analog folder without worrying about messing my site up.

In regard to Weblazer and Awstats, I think Awstats provides the best information. That is just my opinion.

Regardless of which program you use and find helpful, I would be careful about deleting histories. A couple of months ago I went back in Awstats to get some info for the my site that was in the history folder.
