Has anyone installed a news server (NNTP) on their JaguarPC account?

You would only be able to do it on a VPS, Dedicated, or CoLo plan. NNTP servers tend to consume huge amouts of resources (especially disk space) very quickly, so I don't know how practical it would be to run, either, especially since about 98% of everything on usenet seems to be spam these days.

I used to like reading usenet back in the day, back when there was a real community in it.

yep, online forums like this one have replaced usenet for its orginal purpose, today usenet is an other File Sharing System / Spam system. nothing more
