Unhappy New server Callidsto not off to a good start

Down yesterday - all red on network status.

And now the same story this morning.

I had hoped being moved off the failing Neon, which was stable for so long, would be an improvement, but this new server is not getting off to a very good start.

Should I ask to be moved again, I don't want to go down this path with a server that has been problematic on 2 of the 3 days my site has been on it.

Is this likely due to a configuration problem? Support said they were going to try to determine what caused the issue yesterday. Apparently they didn't figure it out, or created a new problem.

Support rebooted, and it went down again!

This seems to be a very bad omen for a new server to have so many problems right off the bat.

They said they were monitoring it for problems, obviously it needs more than monitoring...

    Whew!

For a minute I thought THEY had misspelled Callisto. That would have been a REALLY bad omen!

    Is this a brand-new server?

This was because of a rogue script by a user. Already fixed. However the server is still under closed monitoring.

Yeah, I couldn't fix the misspell. Not enough coffee this morning, and I was not happy because my site was down again.

I think this is a brand new server, but as posted apparently a user was running a bad script that crashed the server. Thanks a lot, annonymous user.

At any rate, I hope this is the end of the downtime. Google always seems to hit my site when there's a problem, and I get a bunch of "network not available" warnings in my Webmaster Tools account.

    Thumbs down

It's been up and down all morning today too. Can I have Neon back?

Callisto is showing some hardware level issues and is being tested as we speak.

What is the status of Callisto? My site was down again this morning, and I was not able to get to Jaguar PC to report it, so it must have been a network problem or something.

I'm still having trouble updating files by FTP (time outs) and I get mail errors almost every day as well.
