    DDos!!

My site keeps getting DDoSed and there is nothing I can do about it.. When the site is getting DDoSed I cant even go to cPanel/WHM. It gets a page cannot be displayed. If someone could help. I need Anti-Virus, Firewall and some kind of DDoS Protection installed on the server. I am not sure if it is already on there but Im guessing its not because my site keeps going down and gettind DDoSed

Hi there. Have you maybe tried opening a support ticket yet? I am sure we could do something for you (not sure that an AV would help too much).

Do you have a VPS with us already, or are you looking to get a VPS?

There is no such thing as DDoS protection for your site. DDoS protection is something that would make sure the destination of the DDoS would get filtered out (meaning your site would be down so that other customers are not affected), but that won't help you keep your site up and running.

If your site gets DDoSed the best thing is to start wondering why anyone would want to do that. What kind of site are you running? People don't DDoS sites for fun, there's usually a reason they do it (either bad competition, people who don't like the content of your site, etc). If you can share a bit of information about your site we can give some advice about how to get rid of the attacks.

Its a site dealing with yahoo games "competition". There were members on the site that were caught cheating so they were banned and since then the site has been getting DDoSed.. and I already have a VPS with you guys.

Ok. I'm moving this thread to the appropriate forum then because you opened it in the sales inquiries section.

It would be best if you could open a support ticket and provide us access to your VPS, because it's really hard to tell what can be done without looking at the VPS itself.

    Hi Pyrox,

    Thank you for your order.

Regarding the optimizations: once you have received your account details you can contact our support department, and they will take care of any optimizations you need for you.

As for MSN: we are sometimes online on MSN, but not 24/7 (generally we're only available if we have time available for it), on address info@solidrack.com. Note that this is not an official way to get support, the only official way to get support is by email/support ticket.

There isn't really a way to actually stop an attack apart from using a hardware based firewall with deep packet inspection (which is very expensive).

The best thing you can do when your VPS gets attacked is to find out what site on your VPS is being attacked and to isolate that site on a seperate IP, and to nullroute that IP. That way the site which is being attacked would be unreachable but at least all your other sites will work properly this way.
