    Question clustering question

I just want know about this. I have a vps. Then I get another vps or dedicated server. If I configure clustering all of them using cpanel, what happen if one of them is down. Also may I know how about account creation under cpanel. Others such as email etc.

No that's not what the clustering features in cPanel do. The clustering features in cPanel are for DNS synchronization only. It's particularly useful for these situations:

    A. When you are hosting your DNS on seperated servers. For instance ns1 is hosted on server 1, and ns2 is hosted on server2, and the domains are hosted on server3 - server500 (or whatever amount of servers you have). Then when you add a DNS zone on server318 (just an example), it'll also synchronize the DNS to ns1 and ns2 automatically.

    B. These features can also be useful when migrating accounts. You could for instance let the new server synchronize the DNS to the old server. This way, when an account has been migrated to the new server, the DNS on the old server will be updated automatically to point to the new server.

It's slightly complicated so I hope you understand what I described. If you have any questions, just let me know.

From what I'm understood I can just setup all domains with same dns for all account with several servers. For example, I can tell to all users on several servers to use just with my standard dns ie. ns1.mydomain.com, ns2.mydomain.com Is it correct? So, what happen if the main server/vps down because other servers also synchronize the dns with main vps/server.

    What you stated is correct.

Regarding the main server: there is no main server. You would have to make sure that ns1 and ns2 are on seperated servers. All servers synchronize to all other servers in the cluster so all servers contain all DNS zones at any given time. So if ns1 goes down, ns2 is still up (and the other way around as well).

For additional redundancy you can even setup ns3, but that's not really a necessity.

    1. Let say I have 3 vps/server. Servers A, B, and C. I setup A - ns1.mydomain.com, B- ns2.mydomain.com, So what for C? also what is for ..n Server? or I just leave it empty for C, ..n

    2. My main account on A, can I setup a same website on B so when A down, website is still up on B

    1. For all the servers you would have to enter ns1 and ns2 in the main configuration of cPanel. All of the servers can act as nameserver, it doesn't matter which ones because they will all have the DNS entries they need. In your example C wouldn't be a nameserver, but would simply be using the other two as nameservers.

    2. No that's not possible with cPanel, you could use round robin DNS but that's not really a good failover method. If you would really want to do that it'll be better to use a load balanced solution but that's not something we offer at the moment.
