Emergency maintenance on 1 USA server [resolved]

Currently one of our servers in USA is experiencing a hardware problem. In order to solve this problem we have to replace the RAID controller, which will cause a small amount of downtime and 2 reboots.

We will do everything we can to minimize the downtime. As soon as we have any updates they will be posted here.

Unfortunately we just found out that the hardware problem caused a filesystem problem. We are going to have to do a fsck to resolve this. At this time we are unable to give a reasonable estimation about how long this will take but we will update this thread as soon as possible as soon as we know more.

I just got in the office about 20 minutes ago, and noticed that unfortunately my main vps is one of the accounts affected with the problem. Although you don't have an estimate of how long it will be until it's corrected, how long do you estimate that it's been down for?

So we're going on over 7 hours now? What's the latest? Is there an ETA? I've got my clients asking me, and I don't like telling them "i don't know".

    Unhappy

My VPS is in effect of this hardware problem. I hope there will be no data lost.
I think I need to subscribe this thread to be informed about updates.

No there won't be any dataloss, it's just downtime. If all goes well all VPS's should now be back up within the next 20 minutes as the fsck just completed. All we have to do now is to confirm that everything is working properly again and then we can start all VPS's (if all is well).

Ok this node is now fully functional again and all VPS's are back up and running without any complications.

We have already been able to determine what caused the hardware error and we will work with the hardware manufacturer directly to ensure this problem won't reoccur.

    Our apologies for the inconvenience.
