    error installing auracle support

hello when i try to install the auracle support, i receive this message:

Fatal error: Incompatible file format: The encoded file has format major ID 2, whereas the Optimizer expects 1; The encoded file was probably encoded by the Zend Guard for PHP 5 (zendenc5), and therefore cannot be run on PHP 4 in /home/kubico/public_html/suporte/index.php on line 0
Anyone knows how can i solve this?
Maybe i need php5 or i have to install some script.

    Thanks

unfortunatly not, however, php 5 has all the same features aas php 4, just its more up to date and has more features.

Are you running a control panel on your vps or not?

    Jonny,

You can set PHP4 and PHP5 up at the same time.

I have PHP4 set up to run all my .php files and PHP5 to run my .php5 pages.

I am not sure how it is set up as I had a friend compile and configure PHP5.

    Peteca,

PHP5 will "break" the majority of PHP4 scripts, OSC being one of the scripts that breaks.

I think the OSC developers are completly rewriting OSC to work on PHP5 servers.

    Peteca,

It might be worth contacting support for this and asking them to compile php4 and php5 like Paul has done. I would think this would allow you to keep on running your current scripts but allow you to run auracle

EDIT: Maybe not, looking at the beginning of your post the index file is .php and therefore if it was compiled like pauls php 4 would still attempt to run auracle

    Jonny,

Although I have set mine up that way does not mean it has to be that way.

For example if I wanted files with the extention .4 to be run as a PHP4 script and .php to be run as a PHP5 script then I could.

Yes but even if it were to be set up like that, the solution isnt viable - the current script like OSC will be php not php4 files and wouldnt work because php5 would be running php files.

I have heard of someone setting their server up to run PHP4 for all sites except for some subdomains which then runs PHP5.

Maybe that would work but unfortunatly I do not know how that would be set up.
