Unhappy Temporary URL is 404'd. Help!

I just signed up for a shared package yesterday, but the temporary URL I was given (http://69.73.139.69/~jpotdpar/) goes nowhere. I can get to my site and see my files just fine with both FTP and the cPanel's File Manager.

I need to be able to see my correct temporary URL because I need to have everything uploaded and working before I set the nameservers.

Is this a problem others have encountered? Is there an easy way to augment the URL to make it work? I've tried:

    http://69.73.139.69/~jpotdpar/
    http://69.73.139.69/home/jpotdpar
    http://gandalf.nocdirect.com/~jpotdpar/

None work. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

If your account username is jpotdpar and that is the server main IP then you have got the correct URL: http://69.73.139.69/~jpotdpar/

It does show something. Is that not what you uploaded in your public_html folder?

    More specifically: http://69.73.139.69/~jpotdpar/index.php

    Someone must have uploaded something...

Yes, I uploaded those files. I was able to access the cPanel, FTP server, and File Manager just fine and all my files were there, but it was still giving a 404. I submitted a support ticket and it was fixed within 5 minutes.

After uploading all ~6000 of the needed files, the server is once again not working, but now instead of a 404 I cannot connect whatsoever.

I don't see anything but "Unable to connect." Do you guys see something different?

    Thanks.

Now it works again after another reply from support.

It doesn't work, then support replies to my ticket and it works, but both times they act like nothing ever went wrong. That makes me think that either support is trying to hide a problem or are unaware of a problem with their server malfunctioning.

    I see:
    Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server
Which is proper for the main shared IP of a server here.
    Good luck

I see that, too. But before I contacted support that Ip was "unable to connect."

Could you elaborate on that, Vin?

I've been having sporadic problems with gandalf as well. I'll be checking the site, doing whatever, and it'll go down for 5-10 minutes at a time.

Yes, there were problems last couple of days, we found two abusive users causing the issues on Gandalf. This is now taken care of, you should be able to see the improvement.
