Eric, you must have deja vueThis has just come up in another thread you might want to take a look at: Register_globals
EuroNut (The mad Brit)
If it ain't broke, don't ping it...
Thanks for your response, but that is the thread that is resulting in current confusion.
Maybe I'm reading that wrong, but I gathered that you should only need to place the php.ini in the document root. I have it uploaded in the document root, but files in my other folders don't work unless I upload a copy of php.ini into every folder that contains a php file. (The all need the include_path)
So, did I read that wrong, or am I only supposed to need one copy of php.ini?
You read correctly, for PHP5. Are you sure you're not accidentally using PHP4 (phpinfo(); can tell you)? If you are indeed using PHP5, your server is apparently not configured as advertised and you should open a ticket to have them fix that setting.

The noob strikes again.
I haven't changed my domain name over yet, so I'm still using the ip address.
123.234.34.56/~username doesn't work, because it pulls the php.ini for the ip based site. Apparently when I switch my site over, all will be well.
Thanks for the help guys.
Sorry about not mentioning that. Didn't know it would be an issue.
