Use hosted Subversion repositories from Windows?

I would like to create a Subversion repository on my domain and access it from my Windows XP box. I would like to use EasyEclipse for PHP and/or TortoiseSVN to process commits from my Windows XP box to the repository, or updates from the repsitory to my Windows XP box. Can this be done?

No for shared account, yes for vps (virtual private server).

My shared server has SVN on it. I have a dedicated IP address. Why couldn't I do it?

Because it is a shared server. Your dedicated IP is for your web site. It does not partition the server for other services. You can use svn locally via ssh, but not remotely.

You mean using PuTTY? If I have TortoiseSVN on my PC, and want to hit the repository on my sever, how can I do it? (sorry for being dumb in this area)

You can probably eastablish an svn+ssh link to your server using Tortise, but you'll only be able to access it with your account details. If you have multiple developers they won't be able to have their own logins.

The more common way of accessing SVN repositories seems to be via http, but the WebDAV module for SVN only works on Apache 2 and JPC's servers are running Apache 1.3.

Jason, I am still very interested in doing this. I do not know what WebDAV is really, but I do know I would like to have multiple developers check in/check out code from my shared server. Is this yet possible?

I had a quick look at EasyEclipse for PHP as well. I think it's behind the times. It uses PHP Eclipse as it's PHP editing plug in, which has not seen a new / updated release for two years now. I'd recommend replacing that plug in with the PDT ( http://www.eclipse.org/pdt/ ). If you're new to automated unit testing, I'd also not get into that with SimpleTest anymore; PHPUnit is pretty much the norm now.

Yes, I've switched to PDT a couple of months ago. I'm still dying to have a way to host a Subversion (or CVS even) repository and check code in and out of it from my laptop, or my associate's laptop. That would be soooo cool.
