    Question ZendExtensionManager.so

    Here's a weird one for you...

    I've been debugging my production web site (Lenon.com) converting PHP-Nuke to PHP5, and...

    When I turned 'log_errors' on, I found out my site was getting Zend errors up the Ying Yang!

    Turned out that this code in the custom 'php.ini' file was responsible:
    Code:
    [Zend]
    zend_optimizer.optimization_level=1023
    zend_extension_manager.optimizer=/usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer-2_6_2
    zend_extension_manager.optimizer_ts=/usr/local/Zend/lib/Optimizer_TS-2_6_2
    zend_optimizer.version=2.6.2

    zend_extension=/usr/local/Zend/lib/ZendExtensionManager.so
    zend_extension_ts=/usr/local/Zend/lib/ZendExtensionManager_TS.so
    Looking around the server, I *guestimated* that this would be more appropriate:
    Code:
    [Zend]
    zend_optimizer.optimization_level=15
    zend_extension_manager.optimizer=/usr/local/Zend/Zend-3.3.0/lib/Optimizer-3_3_0
    zend_extension_manager.optimizer_ts=/usr/local/Zend/Zend-3.3.0/lib/Optimizer_TS-3_3_0
    zend_extension=/usr/local/Zend/Zend-3.3.0/lib/ZendExtensionManager.so
    zend_extension_ts=/usr/local/Zend/Zend-3.3.0/lib/ZendExtensionManager_TS.so
    zend_optimizer.version=3.3.0
    I'm not getting any Zend errors now, so I assume it's working, but I'm not sure...

    What say ya'll?

    With the PHP upgrades, Zend is also being upgraded to 3.3.0 so the user that have php.ini in their accounts need to update php.ini accordingly. Whenever any server level php change will be made, users can download the latest php.ini from cPanel.

    From cPanel - where would we find this download?

    It is available in JaguarPC shared/sdx accounts only under PHP Configuration link.

    Whoa!

    Thanks for the replies - 3 of my 4 favorite ppl at JagPC!

    Well, first of all, I downloaded the latest PHP5 image and simply replaced the [Zend] section in my web root php.ini file. That totally freaked things out - probably an all time record for errors - World Class, in fact! Apologies to my neighbors on Kraken...

    After I restored the original php.ini file...

    I ran a comparator between my original php.ini and the one I downloaded from cPanel.

    There were quite a few paths added/changed from the default php.ini file that I've been using (from the PHP-CGI changeover) - a couple of errors (Hello?!?! Earth to cPanel) - and, of course, a few of things I've added and/or tweaked.

    My site[s] appear to be running error-free now!

    I hate to tell you this, but...

    I'm usually on top of stuff like this, and I didn't realize that 'we' had to update your php.ini file[s] every time JagPC did a server level PHP change.

    I *suspect* there are a LOT of wonky PHP5 INI files running on JagPC right now - throwing mad errors behind the scenes!

    Perhaps an 'Announcement' would be in order...

    You know what...?

    It never fails to amaze me how Google bots follow me around the web!

    I guess that's why JagPC didn't like me deleting a %$@# month's worth of posts... Frankie!

    Check this out...

    I noticed that before Vin. This forum gets on Google fast and with a good rating. Hey, I see I brought into your remembrance something. Nice to so you admit it Vinnie.

    Frankie aye, I laugh each time you write that, some of my old friends from the city who knew me yonder back call me that still.

    I was called that in the first two pictures but Frank or Francis in the last here:
