Thumbs down adrastea = not acceptable

For several days I've been completely shut out of my email, unable to serve up webpages to clients, unable to pull files from my ftp...

To be fair, support has responded somewhat promptly to my emails with the canned "we're sorry for the inconvenience, we're working on it, check the forums for updates," but to me that just doesn't cut it. Not when the restore is progressing at 1% every 2-3 hours.

Is anyone else in this same situation considering a new hosting service? I've been with JPC for a few years now and generally speaking it's been a pleasant experience. But given the current situation and considering all the competition out there, my loyalty is being tested.

The time is normal for a huge restore. It takes time and there is nothing anyone can do about it. You will have the same problem with any and all basic hosting. You need complex (expensive) rollover type hosting for 100% hardware uptime.

Backups are stored on seperate servers and due to the volume of data being stored, compression, and network file transfers, decompression, resotration, integrity checks, and other variables, the restoration process takes time. However we tried our best to get the things sorted out as soon as we can.

Good news: Rollover is not that complex and Jag will have the service soon and it is not that expensive at all: Failover Addon
