    Angry Smaug.nocdirect.com down: until when!?

    Hi,

There are almost three days that Smaug.nocdirect.com is down, and since yesterday the only message that I receive is that JaguarPC's staff is working to restore /home files.

Databases is already ok, so, is it so hard to transfer 30 MB of data to the new server? Look, it's almost THREE DAYS; imagine what i'm losing (visitors and money) with this problem.

Please, please, please, do this as faster you can.

our site has been down for the last couple of days also. I'm getting sick of this now, we pay a fortune and the server is down way too many times and for far too long to be acceptable.

It may only be 30Mb for you, but it can be potentially hundreds of gigabytes for several others. Only so much data can be moved across a network cable at a time, the data has to be decompressed from the backups before that even happens, and the backup system is likely doing some sort of redundancy checking to make sure the data is being transferred intact, and all of this takes time.

Although paying $30 a month for hosting may seem like a fortune to you, what you'd have to pay for a traditional high-availability, zero downtime, hosting setup would be several times that amount. If uptime is important, consider JPC's new failover add-on for another $17 a month.
