How long does it usually take for the domain name to be updated and propagated to the server.

With the new age of updated root servers I've found this to take as little as 15 minutes! That is, from purchasing a domain, setting the name servers, and having it propagated.
Typically 24-72 hours, in my experience...

Depending on where you have it registered. If it 1&1 it will take the full 24-72 hours. Most other places - within 30. I have seen some domains on godaddy showing up within 5!
I used AletiaNIC.com
36 hours and counting........
By default, I believe that AletiaNic will use eNom's name-services.com (or something like that) nameservers. Those are not JPC's servers but the servers of the company that provides registration services to JPC. You need to change those servers to the ones that should be listed in the email with your account details (I believe you have to select custom DNS or something like that). This is probably your problem.

And...
You can always try the good ol' proxy server thing:

Sometimes ISPs are slow to update their zone files...![]()

WTF!?!
I thought it did this by itself?
So I'm using this tutorial here--
http://www.jaguarpc.com/support/tuto...s/dns_enom.htm
but what do I change the NameServer to?
I put in dionysus.nocdirect.com but it won't take that...soooo....do I just put jaguarpc.com or my web site.com?
Current Name Server Info found here:

As far as Propagation time, it largely depends on your ISP and how long they Cache the Data.....
The info should be added to the root very quickly, but no ISP that I know of does real time querying of root DNS servers, that would be stupid...
Ahh ok I see, now I updated AletiaNIC, so it should be up soon =)
