need help, site not working for over a week

    Hi,
I'm desperate for some help if anyone can help me.

last week the server went down and fair credit it was fixed as soon as reasonably possible but since then all my ftps, scripts etc are not working. The trouble is I didn't realise this immediately as the front end to the sites were up.

I emailed tech support who told me nothing had changed but it clearly has, absolute paths to folders are incorrect which is as clear as day to me.

The trouble is I can't put these right as I don't know the path. I'm told nothing has changed so am not getting the answer I need.

Now I am being asked what the paths should be - which obviously I don't know, which was the root cause of the problem I emailed tech support for in the first place.

My two biggest sites have customers using them who are really not happy, I really need some help with this. I'm obviously not happy because my sites are not working.

How do I find out what the paths have been changed to. Access to absolute path folders have been offline for over a week which is crippling me.

I'm desperate now, my emergency support ticket has been open for 5 days and I'm still no nearer to solving this.

Once I know the correct paths I can get my clients ftps working then another day to get all my scripts operational again, this is a huge problem but I can't fix it until I know exactly what the paths are now.

    Any help really appreciated.

    many thanks
    Kev

Eh.. you have failures and you traced them back to specific stuff not being were it used to be. So.. you know what files / folders your scripts fail to find now, no?

If not, please describe in detail what makes you say this is the problem. Exactly what actions no longer work? What errors do you get?

my paths for ftp or scripts say /home2/mysite/..

on the cpanel it now says /home/mysite/...

clearly there IS a difference but support tell me nothing has changed.

All my ftp sites and scripts, which have worked fine for ages before the new server (old server died apparently) are path /home2/...

BUT tech support insist nothing has changed

it either has or hasn't, nothing working tells me it has changed but they say not, I can edit everything to reflect changes but if I use wrong information then I achieve nothing so I need to know how to tell.

Maybe they have done something to ensure old paths work and maybe nothing has changed but then why has everything stoppped working

v confused, I just need to get the right information.

If it all worked before, then I suppose something has indeed changed.

/home/yoursite is what it normally looks like. I think you can safely change your scripts to that, without having to fear it will be different again next week.

That said, it should be real easy for support to create a symlink /home2 to /home, to make almost everything that depends on that /home2 work again too. Have you suggested this to support already?
