MySQL queries

Hello,
I am new here and I hope someone can try and explain what this means. I am a site admin but I've never dealt with the technical side of the server. The person who does is no longer helping and Jaguar PC has locked up our database and shut us down. They say we need a dedicated server but our site is not that big. I was told that our database is 1074.61 MB. Other sites similar to ours run on a shared server with no problems, I don't know why we would need a dedicated server. I am not the account holder with Jaguar PC so I can't even talk to them about this. I'm trying to figure out if this is a problem I can fix so they will let us come back on to the dedicated server. THX so much for any help. I'm lost.


Here is what they sent to the person who actually has the account for our site:

"Your account is on Semi Dedicated server "aragorn.nocdirect.com" is running a lot of processor intensive MySQL queries. These queries are clogging the mysql server resulting in server crash."

Sounds like you will need someone to tune your database or your queries. It is possible an index has been corrupted so that queries that used to work now require table scans...

You need to figure out WHICH queries are killing you... Can you ask support (or get the old owner to ask) if they know what script was running the queries?
