Unhappy What's wrong with the olympia server

For the past month the olympia server has been randomly going down for up to 15 minutes at a time, but for the last two days it has been pretty bad. Last night it was down from 11 pm - 2 am PST and tonight it went down at 9 pm PST and is still down. What's wrong with it?

Reportedly accessible after drive replacement and array rebuilding, but this is not true for all accounts yet. FTP, SSH, and HTTP remain down for me.

    Hey, Ryan...

Have you guys ever played around with kexec and/or kdump?

    Example: http://download.swsoft.com/virtuozzo...uxUG/20027.htm

I was *thinking* about trying them on my personal web server, here at the house.

According to the 'word on the street' kexec isn't reliable enough to be used in production boxes, but who's to say?!?!? Many of these same ppl say the same thing about Windows Vista...

IBM software developers don't seem to have any problems with it, but I'm *guessing* success with kexec is hardware and software dependent.

    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/li...y/l-kexec.html

As computer systems have become faster and better, one area that has yet to catch up with the improvements is system reboot time. In fact, as systems have become more advanced and complex in terms of processor speeds, memory sizes, and resource capacities, reboot times have actually become longer. While a longer reboot time is an irritant for everyone, its impact is critical for production systems where longer reboot times means reduced uptime...

For enterprise-class systems, kexec drastically reduces reboot-related system downtime.
    Anyway, just curious...
