    Argonaut Server - Very poor

I keep submitting website down reports through support tickets and they just tell me, "Oh it's back up now."

My websites go down sometimes for a few minutes at a time... it's quite random when and how long. But it seems to be happening every other day or so

... and I assume it could be happening more when I'm not trying to load my site.

however, I would like to Argonaut server.

We have taken care of this as two users were generating high traffic and web server was failing after some time. We have disabled both the users. After that Apache web server is running fine and receiving normal traffic on the server now.

My Question is what Happened to Monitoring???

I got the SDX because it is suppose to have less people on it, and suppose to offer more resources and more stability.

this server has been less reliable and offers less resources than my 2 Giga Accounts I use for my Personal Web sites.

In the lest 3 months we have now had 3 "abusive" users, In the last 4 YEARS have not not encountered that ONCE on either of my other accounts.....

    so either
a> These users are not really being moved as you guys claim
b> This Box Sucks hardware wise
c> you guys cant monitor it properly

    What is it?

In the result of the monitoring the highest resource consuming account was disabled on this server by techs and was contacted , and this account is still disabled. And we can see the difference in cpu usage and other resources after this account was disabled , are you not seeing any improvement after this ?

When a high resource consuming user is contacted then it can take little time for a complete resolution, as it can be genuine traffic for that site that may have increased over the time and was not an issue earlier with lower traffic or it can be a script not written properly and thus taking more resources than it should, in the later scenario usually client update us after updating their script and then we go through the monitoring phase again to verify if there has been some improvement or not and communicate with them accordingly, also for the first option it takes little time to work on possible upgrade options as resource wise the next upgrade after the sdx plan is dedicated server.

I think TA's question is: why didn't you see it coming BEFORE it got this bad (based on your own monitoring and / or tickets like DotSauce's)? Or, if you did, why didn't you take proactive action?

We do take actions and the servers are not monitored only when any client complains. Servers are monitored all the time by the techs and through the load monitoring scripts that we have setup on all the Jag servers.
Sometimes it takes time to identify the actual user/script causing issues and some times the overall load on the server is not high and only cpu usage or some other resource is on the higher side and for very small period of time. Most of the time it happens for just few seconds and that make it difficult to find out the root cause. In that cases, we see the load history of that server for the day, or even for the last whole week and then techs are appointed to monitor the server at that time to identify the root cause.

Seems to be having issues again the last few days.. early in the morning especially..

Which is disappointing since we went with the extra expense of a SDX in order to have quick load times.

Any chance Tech Support could monitor things a bit? Check response times or something?

    Thanks for the reply Stefan..

I just now did. I was trying to be patient, hoping it would work itself out, but it's been pretty bad again this morn.

    FYI --
I haven't checked before, but I did notice a warning on the server status page a few minutes ago:

    Server Load 14.18 (4 cpus) !

    Thanks again

    Hi Emac,

We were able to track one abusive account on the server which was taking very high resources, it has been locked down and client has been contacted to fix their scripts.
