    Database problems?

Hi, I'm an administrator for an account located on the pandora server, and have been trying to do maintenance on a mysql db for a couple hours now. The site became unavailable a little while ago, then I tried going into phpmyadmin to finish what I was working on after finding out that at least one table had crashed, and cannot even get phpmyadmin to load. The server status in cpanel shows an issue with cpu usage, but nothing wrong with the mysql service.

I'd open a ticket, but I'm unfortunately not the account owner, and he has only given me access to cpanel in order to do work on the site for him. Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated.

I hope this is already resolved for you, but if not, have you tried the cpanel account info (user/pass) in the client area?
    Good luck

The issue is still not corrected, and I can't get in contact with the site owner easily (he's almost literally a ghost member of the community). I can access phpmyadmin now, but the connections to the db keep lagging to the point of timing out in my browser.

    Hi Rowan,

Unfortunately, since you are not the account holder there is not much we can do at your request.

If you provide the domain name and url of the problem and if something is obviously broken we can either fix it or contact the account holder depending on what needs to be done.
I do work for JaguarPC. If you do need help please provide your ticket number (this isn't sensitive information).

If I'm not active on the forum please open a ticket instead of PMing me. If you think the issue requires access to your server please open a ticket.

    The domain is www.thegaminguniverse.com

What started out as a fellow admin being ignorant (I'm really being nice with that description) and deleting his account on our SMF forum and us trying to recreate his account and link his posts back wound up crashing at least one table and causing a noticable CPU load, according to the server status thing in cPanel. At that time I was unable to get phpmyadmin to even load. A few hours later, I got that running and repaired the one table I know had crashed, and tried running an upgrade script to try getting the BBS back up, and the connection on said script keeps timing out. The script is upgrade.php and is located in the forum subdirectory.

Of related note, we have had issues in the past that Jaguar has brought to the owner's attention regarding a high server load due to a member submitting certain topics on our forum to digg.com. As a workaround, I had moved the BBS from the smf subdirectory to the forum subdirectory, which I mentioned previously.

Update: I've just finally gotten the upgrade script to complete, and the BBS is back running. I don't know if anyone actually did anything, but I appreciate any and all help in getting this thing working. Now to contact the owner and talk about getting a little more active with his site...
