Git on shared hosting

Hello, I've just installed Git as a ruby gem on aligator.nocdirect.com.

I want to use Git with Capistrano but am getting a command not found when I try to run any of the below form the command line:

git
/home/xxxx/ruby/gems/git
/home/xxxx/ruby/gems/gems/git-1.1.1/lib/git.rb

Can you help?
