Hello,
By its timestamp, the ticket was created on 2010-05-11 / 19:40:33.
My server was taken offline because of spam.
We do not send out any emails. We use Gmail servers. So it was not something done by us. (from the company). User emails or emails from the website do use JaguarPCs servers.
The suposedly offending site is a community of over 4000 members and growing at a rate of 20 daily, those who join get the option of inviting their friends. Those invitations are aparently the spam issue here.
People do get the option of not receiving emails, of receiving some or all. But NONE of them are sent by us directly.
Its a business, we have physical advertising in 7 countries, we have 21 sales people (waiting to get back online), we have 170 businesses that support and use our service. I would think that using spam would be quite stupid if were spending money that way.
Were a business, we have partners and there is money involved. This is not a community built by teenagers or a get rich quick thing. We´ve been in business for the past 3 years, you should be able to see our growth. So if someone has included their entire gmail addressbook to invite their friends and family its not exactly spam since each email is identified with the persons name and last name and a personal message inviting them.
I myself have to watch for spam within the site, so I know what its like, but what I really bitch about is how slow this matter is being treated. You take the server down and then take over 2 hours to answer support tickets, and Ive sent 3 already and nothing is being done.
Please speed it up, I have many workers with their arms crossed waiting on the site to come back up.
If you dissable access I cannot stop them and see what is going on.
I need the server or at least the other non offending domains back up.
Im sure you have your policies, but SPEED IT UP when you take a server down. Were waiting.
Juan Carlos
