Requirement for WordPress Multisite is wildcard subdomain which can be setup on shared/SDX hosting account also. So you can have WordPress MU on SDX.

BTW, I've been unable to log in - even enter my name - using Chrome, Safari and Opera. I have to use IE to access the forums.

Not sure about Chrome, I quit using it due to issues. Safari and Opera, do not use at all. Firefox and IE both work fine with the forums, and they are the most used of the browsers.

Others have reported it's just an issue with logging in using some of the theme specific login boxes. Basically, you need to click around a bit to find a login screen that works. Apparently I found the right one by chance, as I never noticed. Beyond that login stuff, it works fine. This is typed using Chrome. I use it here all the time.

(Doesn't really seem to be Chrome's fault btw, it's just that the theme developer took shortcuts some browsers are willing to forgive where others are not.)

The best method I've found is to click a reply button. That login screen works every time.

BTW, I'm using Chrome, Fx, Opera, and Midori.

The reply login form works with all of them...
