Hello all.
Just a quick question. I'm trying again to set up my SPF record.
When I send emails, they originate from namrle.nocdirect.com. If I do a lookup on this hostname, the IP comes out as 69.73.147.85
Looking at the actual SMTP headers, the server does it's HELO from namrle.nocdirect.com, but the actual originating IP is 69.73.180.143. If I do a reverse lookup on that IP, it also resolves to namrle.nocdirect com.
Is there a reason for this behaviour?
I keep getting SPF failures when using test tools. My SPF record is:
"v=spf1 ip4:69.73.147.85/32 a mx a:namrle.nocdirect.com include:_spf.google.com ~all"
I tried putting the .85 address in the SPF record to see if it would help, but that didn't help.
I can get it working with an SPF record of "v=spf1 ip4:69.73.128.0/18 a mx include:_spf.google.com ~all", but that's hardly optimal - including the entire IP range.
Does anyone have any tips for me?
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
