    Nova out of Disk Space

Ok, I just removed an crap load of old files and backups from my the server space so I know it is not my account, that has reached the limit

Email is being bounced, Cant access any Cpanel services

Web sites seem to be up, except for functions that interact with the Filesystem

So is seems the whole server is out of disc space or something these is wrong.

Is has not going read only since i can still remove files, but Cpanel gives me

    Code:
The filesystem mounted at /home/<<<<name>>>> on this server is running out of disk space. cPanel operations have been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition.
Ticket 13454644 in que for 45 mins now, no one working on it....

yeah, it was nice when support was excellent.

Maybe you're keeping too many log files. Have you considered a logrotate program?

    I fixed it myself

Appearently i or someone started a Fullbackup, which ran and ran and ran all day eating up disk space, even though to file was only 13 bytes until 2 secs ago when it completed...

That full backup killed my account, once I deleted it, problem solved, I will have to do a backup to another server.

Thanks Support for all your help in solving this problem, What ever would I do with out you......

I'm sorry ancient, we had to borrow one of your drives to put into another server. Please be patient.

    ROFL.

PS: Having Cloud would of prevented this situation.

Aren't there are still plan limits and quotas imposed on the vpses? Depending on exactly why the OS hung him up based on the detection of the full filesystem he may have had the same issue, or crashed or who knows.
    Good luck

Yes there is plan limits and quotas on the VPS systems. Maybe when someone started the full backup, it just simply ate up all the space while trying to save to itself.

Everything is limited, There is no such thing as "unlimited" even though ATT, Verizon, JPC and every other technology company out there likes to use the word in their marketing. Even the "endless diskspace" is infact limited, (which I applaud JPC for just no using the Term "unlimited") as the phsyical space will be limited to the number of drives installed and every server has a limit to the number of drives that can be installed, and since there is a technological limit to the size of each drive, it is not unlimited ....

Now on the subject at hand, each shared account starts with 50Gb of storage, the web site that uses this stored account the users have a TERRIBLE habit of not deleting any emails, currently they have 16GB of emails on the server right now. I know, I know. I am going to rectify that soon,

The day everything went down a Full Backup was started and since the quota was already almost at 50%, when the backup was created that jumped to almost 100%.... oops....

That does show a bit of a dilemma with the quota system. Wouldn't it be nice if an account could hold one full backup of itself outside the quotum?

    Fate rears its ugly head...

In Spanish, "no va" means "doesn't go!"

I would suggest changing the server name, and/or moving it further north.

Which is of passing interest (just) but no relevance. Because the word 'nova' is not the phrase 'no va' in Spanish ...
