I won't even bother opening a support ticket for this one, but just curious as to why Uranium is down for the umpteen hundredth time.

Hmm,
After having some good service on Uranium after the Aletia takeover, I started seeing short downtimes occur recently (usually less than 20 minutes each, about twice a week). But it seems that currently the server has been down for 4 hours or more. Can't connect to the website, nor collect email.
The statuspage shows everything red for Uranium at the moment, but it does not give an indication that maintenance is being done (like it says for Plutonium and Iron).
Would appreciate a quick message from support-related people to what the cause is, and the expected time to fix (if an estimate is available of course).
Thanks.

Anybody know at what point it went down this morning? For recording purposes.
7:45am PST, give or take a few mins. Just over 4 hours ago anyway.
Mail on Uranium was still working here at 16:34 and did not work anymore at 17:56 (next time it was checked). It's now 22:12 here, so that's at least a little over 4 hours, and at most 5.5 hours (for mail).
Once mail gets back up I may have a more reliable figure for http from the monitoring service I use.
[edit]
The news&announcements section gives some info (over 12 hours ago) that work was done on several servers, including: Plutonium, Iron, Nitrogen, Xenon, Krypton, Platinum, Trinity, Jag server. Uranium is not in the list, but perhaps not all were mentioned. The announcement is at http://forum.jaguarpc.com/showthread...&threadid=8938.
Also hope that Jag will work on those mailinglist-per-server so that we might get an update by mail in case sites get hacked so that you don't have to keep an eye on the whole site 24/7. When the current 'waves' pass, it would be a good thing for them to work on (unfortunately I saw a hint that 'it would not be done for several months'...)

Going on 7 hours now... this is just ridiculous.
Is uranium down again, or is it just me?
It's down again... this time it's just the HTTP, everything else is running fine, for some strange reason.
everything is down for me and it also says that on the status page...Its been down for around 2 hours.
Whats going on?? There was a period of several months where everything seemed to run smoothly, and over the past month its been up and down like a yoyo
FreeFall: I know exactly how you feel. Dammit, i wanna check my mail!
It always happens when i wanna do something with my site!!![]()
They're probably gonna try blaming it on terrorists again. Yea... I'm sure with the bombs dropping on their heads, their #1 concern is making my band sites crash.
All it takes is 2 minutes to post a quick note to keep customers informed on what is happening. Most of us can be pretty patient
and understanding -it's the being left hanging that causes so much frustration.
Good business practice is to communicate with the customer, even if it's bad news. To leave them in the dark shows a disregard that doesn't lead to continued patronage.
is anyone elses ftp access really slow to their ftp account? mine used to be fine but is very slow these days![]()
