    Thumbs down Being RIPPED OFF!

    Ok This is the final straw!

    I was member of aletia, and saw a good web-host go steadily downhill for a long time, and found another host to move to. JaguarPC took over after I had already decided to move somewhere else, but I was hoping things would have started improving at least. I had two accounts and successfully closed one, and still was moving files out of my original one.

    How was I ripped off? Well three different ways! The first time I was charged for a whole year of my yearly account ($95.00!) even though I had cancelled the account. They DID refund that payment though, and I thank them for that. THEN I had re-registered a domain through the aletianick.com site paying $9.95 for another year of the domain. I noticed that it was still in the "shopping cart" section after I had made payment months ago...and they told me it went into "inactive" status, and would cost me $200.00 to get it back! Very nice! I decided the hell with that, and wrote off that they had ripped me off for the price of the domain and was holding it hostage. (This was all blamed on Enonm of course) Ok fine....whatever...I just will do without that domain...thanks a LOT!

    NOW currently, I emailed support TWICE before my monthly account was due for payment to cancel my account, and to NOT charge me another month. Guess what...they charged me anyways, and will not answer my emails or support tickets!!

    I will be contacting the BBB now, this place is a rip off! I guess I am also going to have to pay to stop payment on any further payments for an account that I cannot cancel!

    Can you tell I'm angry? So far I have been ripped off $20.00 and lost a domain, thanks to JaguarPC.

    I was goint to leve this post and just move it out but this needs addressing.

    First, let me say Im sorry you decided to leave and hope you have better lcuk elsewhere.

    Now, the first issue, you were charged yearly and as you stated, you were refunded that charge.

    We've only had one issue where this $200 enom thing came out recently so I know about this in a little more detail. If the account lapses, as your did, then the domain expires. There is nothing we can do about it if we arent being paid to renew it. The domain then sat expired for so long it went to redemption status where it sits for a period of time before going back to the market. It costs $200 (a charge imposed on us by enom, imposed on enom by icann) to get the domain out of that status, or you just wait til its back on the market.

    Nowhere in our site does it say to conact support for cancellations or sales issues. In fact in our terms is states to contact sales for cancellations. There are good reasons for that, a tech can not close an account. Also in times like this where tickets are heavy due to various issues, the ticket system just shouldnt be hit with sales/cancel issues. All sites are on a recurring charge status, so yes if its not cancelled it would be billed as normal but thats an easy fix once you contact the right place.

    Sadly, some people think the BBB caters to angry misplaced rage. If you contact us using proper channels I assure you things go much more smoothly. The BBB is not something we fear or look at as threat, please do not misuse business sponsered consumer services. They do allow each vendor to reply to any complaints lodged against them to protect their good name. Just thought you should know. We've done nothing wrong in this case from what you post above.

    This is just my side of this, Im sure other users may find this good reading as well. As for support, you didnt open a ticket on a support issue. Our techs are working support issues as fast and thoroughly as possible.

    Posts like this that are nothing more than a rant do not belong on the board, especially not in the support section. This is not related to support in any way shape or form. Sorry
