    Installing Perl

I'm stuck and hoping someone can help.

Brief history: Ever since the server upgrade (plutonium) my online store has been broken. The scripts (purchased from eDatCat) do not like something about the new version of perl. Jaguar Support duplicated the problem but so far have not fixed it. I asked if an old version of perl could be installed so that I can get my online store (the only source of income for the business) running again. They told me to go to perl.org and do it myself. That was the last I heard from them, so hopefully someone with some perl knowledge could give me a hand.

While running through the install process, I get to a question that asks which C compiler to use. I tried the default answer of cc as well as gcc, and it returns an error that says the compiler doesn't seem to be working, and then kicks me out of the install. Is there a different compiler I should specify??

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks!!

Both should work. cc is a symblink to gcc. Try specifying /usr/bin/gcc instead of just gcc or cc. Jailshell may be haivng a problem finding the actual location of the compiler.
