    Renewing a friend's domain...

    I designed and maintain a friend's website.

Recently, as best as I can tell, his domain name needs to be renewed. He never received a snail mail letter but I presume the renewal notice was sent to him as an e-mail and he probably ignored it thinking it was spam.

In case I'm wrong about this, the address is:

    djneutron.com

Anyway, he doesn't have a credit card and so he gave me money to renew his domain. His hosting is paid up to the best of my knowledge so if I renew the domain he should be good to go.

But I can't for the life of me figure out how to do so.

All I want to do is log into some page, put in my info, pay for his next year of domain service, and be done with it. I don't want to change his DNS or whois listing or anything. Just pay.

I'm positive I'm not the first person to do this so does anyone know where I go?

I've had a ticket made on this at Jaguar but they have yet to answer me, no doubt having all those problems with that hacker guy making havoc for them.

    Any idea?

    Hi,
The domain has expired on March, 18. It was registered with enom, so I think it's the best to contact them first and ask about renewal procedure.

enom is a Jaguar reseller according to this:

    Organization: Jaguar Technologies LLC
Address: 4201 SW Freeway suite 220

    Houston, TX77027
    Phone: +1.2816330343
    Fax: +1.2816330346
    Email: les@jaguarpc.com

Since your domain was acquired through one of our resellers, you will need to contact them directly for assistance with your domain name, login or DNS assistance. We do not have access to this data. Their contact information can be listed above for your convenience after you submit your domain name.

Also, your reseller has the tools and the capability to:
    Register your nameservers for you.
Set you up with a password to access your name.
Set or remove registrar locks at any time.
Add, change, or alter contact information for your domain names.
Set, or change nameservers for your domain names.
Answer any questions regarding billing or services that they provide.
    Renew your domain.

The domain was registered at AletiaNic. AletiaNic is owned by JPC and is a reseller for ENom. You can access AletiaNic at http://www.aletianic.com, but in order to renew the name you'll need to know the username and password that was used to register the domain originally. If you don't have that you'll need to wait for support to respond to your ticket.

I do have the user name and password.

I don't see a renew page for that site. Do I have to register an account with them?

No, you have the account (that's the username and password). Here's the instructions from the help section of the site (I don't use them for my domains, so I've never actually go through this procedure before):

    1. Log-In.
    2. Click the menu item called "Domain Names".
    3. Click the menu item called "My Domains". This is the list of your domains.
    4. Click on the domain you want to renew.
    5. Click the "Add Years" button at the top.
    6. Select the amount of years you want to renew your domain name for.
    7. "Add to Cart".
    8. Checkout and you're done.

    Hope this helps.
