    Questions about Multi-Hosted Domains

This is the first time I'm doing this, so I have a few stupid questions.

I think I read somewhere that a multi-hosted domain would just have one e-mail address. How do I set up this address? Would I use the Default Address feature? Should I set up the default forwarder as my regular e-mail address, tell people to e-mail [anyname]@multihosteddomain.com, and then receive all the mail as unrouted mail?

I have a forum set up on my main domain, and I'd like to set up another one for the multi-hosted domain. My forums now are www.bandofbuggered.com/forum. Could I install another as www.bandofbuggered.com/forum2 or something, and then just link there from one of the pages on the multi-hosted domain? It doesn't appear as if I can add a forum directly to the multi-hosted domain or the subdomain.

    Thanks for your help.

Yes... With multihosted domains you only get all the mails to one location...

If you can't configure it on your cpanel, under Default Address, you can send a ticket and ask support to configure your account the way you want.

You have this part mostly correct. Any and all mail TO your multihosted domain may be set (control panel>mail>default addresses) to be forwarded to ANY e-mail address. My wife has (had?) mymodelhorses.com being forwarded to her pacbell.net address.

The multihosted domain is hosted in a sub-domain in a top-level directory of your domain.

mymodelhorses.com lives (lived) in bryer.andruschak.net; which lived in andruscahk.net\breyer.

The XMS forum will install into a top-level directory, such as andruschak.net\breyer -- which placed it in the root directory of mymodelhorses.com. It runs from an index.php which loads if you access that directory without specifying a file. If you create an index.html that will load instead and you can link to your forum's index.php.

I would direct you to mymodelhorses.com as a working example, but I got caught in a server crash and they moved my main domain to a new address -- but they neglected to have my multihosted domains follow.
