Oh, okay, An-Nisaa. I thought maybe you were one of the new guys they hired to get Photon running.

Anyway, I love this place and so will you. It just takes a little getting used to. There are many features here that they don't offer on free sites. Have fun!

Hrm... well, that's a long subject, but you cannot do anything with Cpanel if Cpanel is screwed up. Go to this page and see if your user name and password work. If so, then leave 'them' a ticket, telling them the problems you are having...

nope doesnt work there either... they emailed me the domain name the username the password and the ipaddress and so far all i can get to operate is the ip address i have been emailing them all day and have gotten no word back... i am getting fairly frustrated i can say that much. I take it a ticket is a letter to them in concern for what is going on and i can say i have sent three tickets if thats what they mean... they have all went to different areas i am having trouble with... did you have trouble setting up?

A support ticket is an entry into a support database that JPC runs. The purpose is to track problems and assign techs to handle them. Support tickets are preferred over emails because all of the techs have access to the tickets so any one can help you, not only the email recipient. The ticket system also tells them what tickets need to be followed up on, so tickets (usually) don't get lost the way emails can. I believe that Vin posted the URL to the ticket system. If you haven't done so already, create yourself an account and submit tickets for any issues that you are having.

The servers run on the Linux operating system, but you do not need to be running Linux to access them. The easiest way to upload your site is to use FTP. A good Windows FTP client is WS_FTP. To set it up, use the following:

Host Name/Address: yoursitename.com, ftp.yoursitename.com, or your IP address
User ID: the username that you got in the email from JPC, that you are using to access your Control Panel.
Password: the password that goes with the above username

Once you make the connection, upload your site into the directory called public_html.

The Control Panel allows you to do things like create email accounts and check your site's statistics. There is a file manager included in the CP, but it is generally best to use it for making simple file modifications, not uploading your entire site. The CP is accessed through the web and works equally well in both Netscape and IE on a PC.

I hope this info is helpful.

An-Nisaa: note that the access details given to you are not needed (nor usable) for the support ticket system: you can create your own support account by clicking the big red 'create account' sign. Once you've done that you've opened up the highway to help
