Question Increase in spam since attacks.

    Greetings,

I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with spam since the server defacements and ddos attacks? I have been receiving tons of it lately, mostly from ISPs in Asia. Coincidence?

Before the attacks, I never received unwanted mail at my either of my domains. I always use hotmail when an address is required. For sites that refuse hotmail accounts, I use the company's name @ my domain. This trick has kept my inbox fresh and clean for years.

Now I am being inundated with offers for everything but a kitchen sink!

The offending emails are usually addressed to users that don't exist at my domains, but my catch-all account picks them up. If I disable the catch-all feature on my main account, email sent to my multi-hosted domain will get bounced, right? Is there any way to set up a true pop account for my multi-hosted domain?

Comments, suggestions and chocolatey treats are welcome.

    Take Care,

    PM

I use SpamCop to track down spammers and sent complaints to their ISPs. You can find them at http://spamcop.net/.

    Eric,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been reporting the offenders. It's becoming a full time job, though. I am using filters in my mail client as well, but it's not cutting down on the volume as I had hoped.
