    HelpDesk/Ticket System

I am normally not one to complain about Jag's system

but this issue has been brought up time and time again, and i feel it needs to be address and I am going to make a few suggestions on what I feel are better systems then the one they have now

Which is not at all user Freindly

Wonder Desk is a Expesive POS script IMO, why people pay $400 for it I will never ever know, I abolute HATE it, with a passion, it is my one and ONLY grip about the service here

I have never used the Backend Portion as I refuse to pay the money for it, but if it is anything like the front end I can see how tickets go unawnsered

    well now for Commercail Products

    http://www.cerberusweb.com/

    Pretty damn good product...
Nice navigation system, Easy to use Admin, and Support Screens, Plus the Front end is vastly better to Wonder Desk, it is Cheaper, and it is PHP this is a BIG PLUS in my book

DeskPro have a good User System, never used the Back in too much but it is worth a look
    http://www.deskpro.com/

Here is a Free one, that I have never used but might be useful to your type of business

    http://www.ispman.org/

there was another free one that I use to use myself, but now I can not find it, maybe the project went under

but anyway, I would highly suggest that JAG change they Ticket system, if not oen one list here to another one that find better, but please look in to the ease of CUSTOMER use as well

Wonderdesk is not "hard" to use by anymeans, but I dont think is it well layed out at all

Likewise I hate the wonderdesk ticket system, it lacks so much funtionality and as Xtreme said it isn't user friendly at all. For a company that is creating HostGUI I'm extremely suprised they haven't created their own ticket system. I'm an experienced but amateur programmer and it wouldn't take me more than a day to create something better than wonderdesk.

Particularly the facility for users to shut their own tickets is the feature I miss most.

You will be hard-pressed to find anyone who like wd around here. I *think* when Jag bought it , wonderdesk was one of the best options around.

Just the other day we were testing some alteratives.

We have actually but when I asked the programmers about running that system solo until such time that we can go full hostgui, they advised against it. The hostgui support system really isnt meant to be a stand alone system, maybe we can port it out later down the road.

For now we will seek a better alternative than wd, and preferrably one that wont be too hard to import/migrate data over to the hostgui format.

You can expect a ticket system change very soon.

Yes, I very much agree that wd is painful to use. It's the worst ticket system I've ever used, although I have only used three services that had ticket systems other than Jag: Rackshack.net, Directnic.com, and Aletia.com. I liked Aletia's the best, but Rackshack's was decent too. I am glad to hear that will be a change soon.

One with a Knowledge base, like Deskpro, would be very very nice. We could even help write some articles.

Another question: will the new Jag web site be available before HostGui is released, or at the same time?
