    Subdomain DNS issue?

    Hi all,

I opened a ticket (1051405887) on this already, but I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem getting NEW subdomains to resolve.

I perfrom a dig on the new subdomain and the results don't look correct.

I am currently accessing the sub via www.domain.com/sub , which made for a few annoying modifications to the forum software config, and the people who use this sub will not tolerate this method, etc., etc., etc....

Did I miss a step in the cpanel, other than just creating the subdoamin?

Also FWIW, I found that trying to accesss phpmyadmin to create a database, I was rejected with a bad password message. I f ound one other thread on here that had the same problem, and the solution was to change your domain password (and then change it back) and then the phpmysql started working.

Subdomains won't resolve right away. The subdomain needs to be added to your site's DNS record and then that record needs to propagate throught the net, so it may take a couple days before you can access your subdomain.

I think you have 2 seperate issues going on here. The password thing is one. A friend of mine just got an account here, and he had the same problem. I don't know what the cause is, but changing your password is the cure, as you found out.

On the DNS situation, I don't know if you realize it, but the subdomain name has to propagate, just like a domain name. So, once you hit the button, it's going to take 3-4 days for the name to resolve.
