I'm going to make this very brief (for me), then go to bed. Hopefully I will have an answer when I wake. I've had 3 hours sleep in the last 48 hours and just finished working 24 hours straight...![]()
As you may or may not know, I have a Nuke site, which is written entirely in PHP. Although I've only been involved in the Nuke community for a couple of months, I'm getting somewhat of a rep as a bug chaser. I'm modding on a Nuke development site, blah, blah and blah...
I never have liked chatrooms all that much, but now I find myself involved in a chatroom project, written in PHP and designed for use on PHP-Nuke sites. I have been testing it on my site. Although it uses a flat file database at this point, it seems to be very easy in regard to server load, from what I can tell. I've worked on it for a few days and everything is looking good. However, I don't want to spend much more time on it if I can't use it on my own site.
Here's the question: is it okay to run a flat file chatroom, written in PHP on JaguarPC, or is this a no-no? I can supply you with the code if you want to see it. Here is a link to the chatroom[s]:
http://www.lenon.com/menthol.php
It isn't linked, nor will it every be, to any other site, et cetera. It is basically a stand-alone product, which is being integrated into the PHP-Nuke proggy.
Thanks! I'm going to go passout now...
