    password protecting an entire site

Can anyone point me to some sort of tutorial or something?

I've got an entire site with scripts and pages that I want individual accounts and passwords for. I've got the MySQL database with those users and passwords.

I've installed PhpSecurePages, and it works real well except for a couple of areas one of which is Gallery which I can not get it to work properly with.

    Thanks
    Sam

You could use htaccess protection from the control panel, but you have to set those up manually most of the time.

There are scripts to manage .htaccess files. That would probably be your best bet.

Is this the same as using "Password Protect" in the CPanel? If it is, that isn't working how I'd like either. It protects the base directory, and prompts for a password, but then when a user goes on, it prompts again. I just want ONE user ID and password prompt per session total regardless of where the user enters the site.

That won't happen. The way that password protection works depends on the domain. If the subdomain (subdomain.domain.com) changes, it screws up anything using .htaccess protection.

However, subdirectories work I think, so site.com/subdirectory would still be protected.

Thanks for the help. I'm just going to stick with PhpSecurePages even though it isn't working properly for me. I went to Hotscripts and have tried about 10 different scripts and I've gotten nowhere fast. What happened to the English language anyway?
