Not sure what's allowable here on avatars in terms of max. file and pixel size, but I'd guess no more than 100x100 pixels and under 5 KB. Jag probably could tell you the specifics.
Something under 60x60 pixels and 2 KB should definitely work, either in .jpg or .gif form. They used to have a 15 post minimum before one could post an avatar, but I don't believe that's the case anymore...

Gotta admire the tenacity (or is it insanity?) of those who hang out here this long. Not many of us. Perhaps 7 now? I think clio still holds the record on the most posts here, but she hasn't been so vocal of late. Jason, you'll no doubt catch up to her soon, although Jag is currently ahead of you. Just what is it about usernames beginning with "J" that make them so chatty? And Vin, at your current rate, you'll pass us all by the end of the year...
As for the rewards previously mentioned, alas, they are mostly of the intangible sort. But that doesn't appear to have made them any less compelling to some of us here.![]()

Well, here's the deal... I lead, what most ppl would refer to as, a stressful life. I do this by design. I find stress exhilarating. The trick is to stay ahead of it. If you allow it to catch up with you, it will kill you. This is real and demonstrable, not just a matter of opinion. My wife likens it to being a mountain climber who claws his way to the top, only to get pissed off because there's no more mountain to climb. LoL! She's very observant...Originally posted by lookout

I cope with my lifestyle through a variety of means, including being an insatiable, even garulous, talker and writer. Some ppl like this, some ppl don't. This is only one of many web boards that I frequent during the day (and night), if you can believe that.
My life is broken down into hours and minutes, not days and weeks. I know this may be hard for some of you to understand, but that's the way it is. My day is broken into many 'days'. One moment I'm on vacation, the next I'm back to work. Situations change constantly. I deal with them and move on. So goes my life...
Having said that, I was in a whimsical mood, for a while, last night. This almost always causes problems for those that don't favor persons like myself. They invariably lodge objections with the moderator[s], and it becomes problematic for the owner and operator[s] of the web board involved.
I try to temper myself on places like this --- places with a fairly large number of wimpy, thin-skinned, limp-wristed, bedwetters --- but, sometimes I get carried away. It's my nature; the good thing and bad thing about me...
I made some comments last night, that upon reflection (in the waning hours of my 'day') should have probably not been said. Although I'm not opposed to doing such things, when there's an appreciable point to be made, I didn't think it was worth the struggle for a little levity. One must learn to pick his fights in life.
I didn't judge the comments I made to be anything more than tongue-in-cheek folly, but wasn't sure they would have been taken as such, in the light of current events. Accordingly, I decided to delete them. Unfortunately --- and I don't understand why this is --- 'they' won't allow you to delete your own messages on this site. All you can do is 'gut' them, and that's what I did; Lawrence Welk style, which was probably lost on most users too...
Hopefully, my actions will make a little more sense now![]()

I see. I had pretty much figured that out about you by now. And I agree that stress can be a healthy thing. BTW, I took your original posts in the whimsical manner you initially had meant, although I can see why someone here may not have. I hadn't noticed until just now that the one-two... posts had replaced the earlier two. I had viewed them as new ones from last night, and responded to them as such. So did you end up editing them or was it the invisible hand?
Can't blame the mods for doing their job as they see fit, although one might not always agree with them.As I see it, they're a necessary evil in almost any public forum, where they perform the important, though generally thankless, task of maintaining some semblance of order.
