Unhappy GD snags + support failure

The recent upgrade to the GD libraries on Penguin (?) from 2.0.9 to 2.0.12 has lost full truecolour support in generated jpeg images.
Well either that or imagecopymerge has lost opacity support.

Either way, is it possible to backgrade to 2.0.9 until Thomas Boutell and co have sorted the problem?

subnote: I tried the 'ticket support request' and it would not accept my username and password. I tried to mail-reminder-pass and it complained as I have no card on record (paid through paypal)

There's a new support ticket system.. YOu need your regular JPC client username/pass.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I went through the same drill before, except I tried about 1000 combinations. As it turned out, the user name was my domain name, with the first letter capped, e.g. Lenon.com, and the PW was the original one they gave me when I first signed up...

w00t - tried a few more permutations and a simple [domain.com + accountpassword] got in - sure I tried that before (maybe had www. on it earlier).

ambles off to find a ticket....
