    Spam filters vs. Spam assassin?

Are the cpanel "spam filters" and "spam assassin" features mutually exclusive? The spam filters don't seem to be processed.
For example, I have install spam filters

    $header_to: is "h@woolner.com"

Yet, if I send email from another account to h@woolner.com, the mail comes through. Am I misunderstanding how spam filters work?

Alternately, can I configure spam assassin to automatically delete emails coming into a specific address?

    Thanks,
    Keith

I have the same question, 99.9% of the time the mail Spam Assassin flags is spam, Id like for it to delete it rather for it to be in my inbox.

Yes, they are mutually exclusive. I'm not positive, but I think that the filters run before spam assassin does, so it isn't possible to let the filters delete mail marked as spam. You might be able to configure SA to delete the messages, though. See this thread for info about configuring SA.

As for the filter not working, try using "contains" instead of "equals." When you use equals the header must match exactly what you specified, but mail clients often include more than just the address to the fields that contain email addresses (such as adding a real name and/or placing < >'s around the address, which cause the filter to fail. With contains, as long as it finds the address somewhere in that header it will delete it.

    Good luck.
