    site load speed help

my site seems to be loading extremely slow. Since there aren't a lot of images, I'm guessing it has to do with database issues (since it is a postnuke site). I was wondering if ayone had any suggestions on how to speed it up. check it out here.

    thanks!

    Creg1,

Slow is a relative term. What do you consider slow? The page loaded in
approximately 15 seconds. I'm currently connected at 24 KB which is the best
I can get out of the rural phone lines I connect from.

What I got was a grey background, for most of the waiting time. When the
    page loaded it loaded instantaneously.

You don't have a lot of graphics, but it looks like the page may have a
rather large file size because there is a lot on the page.

I'm on a 3Mbps cable connection right now, and the page loaded really fast, so I don't think you need to worry. There are a lot of things that can slow a page down, and most of them are largely out of your control. You could have been experiencing network latency, there could be a lot of "noise" on your line (this is especially common on dialup and, to some extent, DSL lines), someone else on the server could have had a script go nuts and hog resources when you were checking your page. All of those are out of your control. The way you're designing your site with minimal graphics should give you little reason to worry.
