Your feedback is appreciated. JaguarPC's website is constantly evolving and changing. The pop-up is a newer feature and we are currently evaluating the level of its' popularity. Where and when it displays may change in the near future. Regardless, we appreciate you taking the time to post and make us aware of your opinion.

That style of 'page trap' is usually found with porn sites, and bottom of the barrel trashy, scammy sites.

I really think you should ditch it at once.

It is not a page trap, it does not prevent you from leaving the page. It simply provides a discount.

It's supposed to offer discounts to people to encourage a sale to try and turn more views into sales. We're still trying to tweak it to make it less intrusive to casual browsers and existing clients.

You guys aren't getting it, are you?

This pop-up is the hallmark of porn sites, and other scammy low-end sites. Do you really want JPC to be seen in the same light?

Thanks for your feedback Bellthorpe. The popup is a topic under discussion already and this will be a factor.

I was looking at dedicated servers and thought woohoo I will definitely get one here now with the discount offered. Of course only to find even though it was popping up on the dedicated page it wasn't actually related to dedicated servers.

    A tad misleading IMO.

And it's terribly out of place on the Network Status page, the knowledgebase, etc.

I'm not a big fan of this type of hook. If you have an offer, post it in a banner or link on the appropriate product page. Don't only offer it to me if I threaten to leave. Navigating the site is now like trying to get away from a used car salesman.

Sorry but I don't think it's going to work the way you think it is, you might snag some low end clients but any high end clients aren't going to look on this favorably.

Thank you for your feedback. While I do appreciate and value your opinion, the statistics that we are receiving back are contrary to your believe. Every single change we make, every promotion we run and every package we produce, goes through a thorough testing period which allows us to gauge whether it was successful or whether it has failed. Based of the data we have collected and the testing we have completed, this has exceed our expectations.

Fair enough. You guys are in charge.

I'm just surprised that 'pissing off existing customers' is one of the criteria for 'successful'.

The goal is not to piss off existing customers, the goal is to improve conversation rates. We have tens of thousands of customers around the globe and less than .0001% has even commented about it. We are constantly tweaking all systems to make them work for all customers whether it be existing customers or new customers. The end goal is to be able to make JaguarPC the best hosting company in the world.

There is a simple solution to this problem...... or perceived problem

Opt out cookie..... Could be tied to the client center, or a preference in the client center, hidden on some web page on the site or some other impentations, that way experienced clients that use the JPC Main site for reference or to look at plan changes or to plan an upgrade etc etc can turn off the "feature" but JPC can still get the conversions from new clients that are just window shopping

Best of both worlds I say

If you log in to nixcore the pop up is removed. We do have a disable mechanism.
