In WHM I see that mysql and httpd are running. In Virtuozzo, it always says mysql and httpd are down. I know they are working because my database driven site is up. Why the difference?

i dont know the difference but mine is always like that. It could be due to Virtuozzo is looking for the HTTPD in a different location to where it actually is.
Because WHM installs its own copy of apache and mysql etc so Virtuozzo is probably looking for apache under /usr/share when its under /usr/local (might not be accurate) but its probably something like that.
I dont like cpanel, only reason ive got it is because someone i host is hopelessly dependant on it for their survival. Id love to get my hands on Interworx as it looks great but i guess ill have to wait
Im interested in how this thread turns out as my virtuozzo is showing the same stuff.
WHM installs it's own copy of Apache and MySQL? Is that why lots of resources are used up quickly? Are the start/stop services options in Virtuozzo useless then?
well im no expert by far but WHM does install its own software but the virtuozzo restart etc are useful, worked fine on my vps the other day when named kept dying on me. I dont know about where it is getting the status information from for apache etc i suppose Virtuozzo restart etc could use /sbin/service <service name> start | stop | restart but im not sure.
Perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge in such areas can enlighten you, i dont use whm or virtuozzo to restart services a lot. Mostly use ssh (but then again my services never same to go down)
