Should only take a few mins, ask support.
thanks awalsh!
one additional thing. is it possible to have more than one "shared ip" on a server. as in if i were to either assign one of my 2 non-shared ip addresses that came with my server or purchase a new one to a resller, could they create multiple accounts using that ip address? so far all is ee is the ability to use one ip address of a domain, after which if i try to put a new domain on that ip it tells me that the ip has already been assigned to another domain.
You can put any number of sites on any ip you want in a server. The problem is most control panels only support one main shared ip though. You would have to manually edit the httpd.conf to setup other sites on another ip you want to share among sites.

JAG this is a feature I've asked for a few times... I'd like to be able to assign any of my sites to any of "my" IPs.
Is this something simple that tech support can handle? If I resell a site, can I then open a ticket and ask them to move that site to one of my other IPs?
Thanks.
Ron,
That will require a tech to manually edit the dns zone, edit the apache configuration file, restart apache, and wait for dns propagation. It is doable manually but not a cpanel/whm feature.
Thanks Masood!
Question: you've kind of anticipated this, as a new site wouldn't be bothered with a propagation problem (old vs new); what happens to an existing site if it's IP is moved to another IP on the same machine?
Example foo.com is at 1.1.1.1 and is moved to 1.1.1.2
Anyone requesting foo.com that has an old dns cache will send the request to 1.1.1.1; will apache virtual host see that it's for foo.com and route it appropriately anyway?
Thanks!
Yes, this can be arranged in apache configuration to serve the same host from two IPs (i.e. new and old).
Ref: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod...ml#virtualhost
If you request this setup, please make sure to have us remove the old IP after a couple of days. You can specify more than one IP address. This is useful if a machine responds to the same name on two different interfaces. ....
